Dr. Demarest Crawl is a dynamic professional with a passion for ethical real estate development, social work, and community transformation.

Her mission is to revitalize urban neighborhoods while ensuring long-term affordability and sustainability for residents. She brings a unique combination of expertise in mental health, communication, and housing development to every project she undertakes.

Real Estate & Community Development

Dr. Demarest Crawl is an emerging real estate developer and Maryland Licensed General Contractor whose work is rooted in Afrocentric, community-centered development principles.

She specializes in the acquisition, rehabilitation, and repositioning of vacant and underutilized residential properties in Baltimore City, with a focus on restorative development strategies that promote dignity, ownership, long-term neighborhood stabilization, and reduced concentrated vacancy.

She has successfully led multiple full rehabilitation projects, including the transformation of a 5-bedroom, 2-bathroom property into a 6-bedroom, 6-bathroom home, and collaborated with Buy Into Baltimore to convert a 5-bedroom, 2-bath home into a 4-bedroom, 3.5-bath residence.

Her broader development portfolio includes completed residential rehabilitations, corridor revitalization efforts, and a growing pipeline of clustered redevelopment projects aligned with whole-block stabilization and public-private neighborhood investment strategies.

As a proud member of Women of Color in Community Development, Dr. Crawl remains committed to equitable redevelopment that strengthens existing communities rather than extracting from them.

Demarest earned her Doctor of Social Work (DSW) at Simmons University, where her research and dissertation focused on community-driven real estate development and equitable affordable housing solutions for urban areas affected by historical redlining. Her academic background spans multiple disciplines, equipping her with the tools to blend financial, social, and technological strategies to create lasting impact:
